Baldock Town Partnership was founded in 2005 with the aim of coordinating local efforts to rejuvernate the town's economy and is seeking to emulate the success of similar organisations in towns such as Hitchin and Royston.

It is an independent body made up of the local business community and representatives of the North Hertfordshire District Council and other Baldock groups. To give it legal impetus and enable it to obtain future funding, the partnership became incorporated into a private limited company on 7 June 2007 and is now known as The Baldock Town Partnership Limited.

Membership of the partnership is free and is open to all businesses based in or with an interest in Baldock and as well as local residents. There is currently a nucleus of 25-30 active members and it is hoped that there will be a substantial increase in this number as its objectives become more widely publicised.
The partnership was allocated initial funds of approximately £14,000 from the North Herts District Council and continues to seek additional funding from regional bodies and other sources.

Since 2008, the partnership has employed a Town Centre Manager, Murray Fastier, for part of the week and it is in the process of developing an interactive website to promote the town. It worked closely with North Herts District Council and its consultants to approve the proposals for the Town Centre Enhancement Scheme.
